NFL – Ongoing Legal Proceedings: Terrion Arnold Becomes a Free Agent and Meets with Teams

Terrion Arnold, who is facing criminal charges, is now a free agent and could have a new team soon.

Terrion Arnold is currently on trial on charges of robbery and kidnapping. According to prosecutors, a conviction could result in a life sentence.

Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, the 23-year-old is now a free agent.

According to “ESPN,” he will soon be meeting with interested teams and could be signed to a new contract shortly.

Arnold’s attorneys had previously stated that he might have found a new team even before training camp begins. According to a statement made in court, three teams are said to have specifically contacted him.

Since Arnold has only been in the league for two years, he is not considered a “vested veteran” and therefore has fewer rights. As a result, until Monday, he was subject to the “waiver rule,” which would have allowed teams to claim him and sign him to a contract.

However, since this did not happen, he is simply a free agent and can sign with any team.

NFL: Terrion Arnold is subject to restrictions on leaving his property

Last Tuesday, Arnold was released on bail ($1 million), but is only allowed to remain on his property in Tallahassee, Florida. Exceptions include practices, games, and travel with his NFL team, as well as court appearances.

After Arnold turned himself in, he was initially arrested and subsequently released by the Detroit Lions.

In 2024, he was drafted by the Lions in the first round as the 24th overall pick and is considered one of the top talents at his position.
