NFL offers turned down: Matt Ryan hints at decision to end career

Quarterback Matt Ryan never officially ended his career. Now he is hinting that he has turned down several offers.

It sounds like an unofficial end to his career. Basically, it’s an announced career end, just without actually saying it.

Matt Ryan was part of the NFL for 14 years, playing quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons from 2008 to 2021 and for the Indianapolis Colts in 2022.

Since his release from the Colts, he has actually been a free agent, but has since worked as a TV analyst for the broadcaster “CBS”.

There is even a good reason why Ryan has publicly avoided a clear end to his career so far. And has now hinted at it again

Ryan is said to have continued to receive money from his Colts contract through his active free agent status.

Teams inquired about Matt Ryan

Recently, teams have apparently contacted the QB again and again and asked about a possible commitment.

But the 38-year-old says he has never really looked into it, as he really appreciates his TV job, as he revealed around the Super Bowl in Las Vegas: “My agent told me that some teams have inquired about me. But I like what I’m doing here at CBS. It also fits with my family and it would probably make sense to move on.”

He continues: “But there’s still that part in your head that tells you that you still have it in you to play. I guess that’s how it is as a former athlete. I definitely liked my 2023.”

Sounds like an unspoken end to his career. On the “UpAndAdams” show, Ryan now announces a decision in the coming weeks. When asked if he could make his comeback, perhaps even with a team like the Las Vegas Raiders, Ryan smiled in the negative and hinted again: “It’s probably more about a possible career end. “
