NFL – Next city in Europe: This is where the league will play in 2025!

The NFL is further expanding its International Series. From 2025, the best football league in the world will play in Madrid and is bringing a strong partner on board!

The NFL will play another game of its International Series in Europe from the 2025 season! As the league announced at a press conference during the Super Bowl, the NFL is entering into a partnership with Real Madrid.

The game will therefore be played at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Miami Dolphins and the Chicago Bears are being traded from possible teams. Both teams have secured the rights for the Spanish market.

“Hosting a game in Madrid in 2025 underscores the league’s continued expansion of its global footprint and increased ambitions to bring our game to more fans around the world,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

“The arrival of the National Football League at the Santiago Bernabeu is a significant event in the history of sport,” said Real President Florentino Perez. “This strategic alliance between Real Madrid and an organization with the prestige of the NFL will strengthen our brands worldwide. It will be enthusiastically received by millions of people on every continent and we are honored to embark on this journey together.”

50 regular season games have already been played internationally in the league’s history, including in London, Munich, Frankfurt, Mexico City and Toronto. Sao Paulo in Brazil will host a match at the Corinthians Arena, home of Brazilian soccer club SC Corinthians, in 2024 – the first in South America.

Madrid is the first new market confirmed for the 2025 International Games and will be the fourth European city to host a regular season match (London, Frankfurt, Munich).

NFL 2025 in France?

However, the next market is apparently already ready. When asked about a possible game in France, NFL Vice President Peter O’Reilly explained that there is the possibility of eight international games from the 2025 season onwards.

“There is a large fan base in France and with the New Orleans Saints we also have a team that has secured the rights for the French market,” he explained. Cooperation with a soccer club is not a prerequisite. However, there are no concrete announcements yet.
