NFL: Miami Dolphins – Fan apparently forgets his own marriage proposal

A spectator had everything ready for a marriage proposal during the Miami Dolphins’ game against the New York Jets in Week 15. But when the camera panned to the couple’s seats, Romeo was gone.

Munich – There are things that make you wonder what exactly went wrong. That’s the question spectators at the game between the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets in Week 15 must have asked themselves.

Because one spectator was actually perfectly prepared for the big day, for the question of all questions, he had agreed with the Dolphins. That’s why a photo of him kissing his better half was displayed in large letters on the scoreboard at halftime, next to the question: “Christine, will you marry me?”

The romance factor – proposing in a stadium – was already divisive, but what came next topped it all, as Connor Hughes of The Athletic reported: when the camera panned to the couple’s seats, Christine was sitting there with her hand over her mouth. Alone.

And her prince?

He wasn’t there. Halftime at a football game, that’s all. Getting food maybe, or a beer, passing water – something was obviously so important that he forgot his own motion. Or the man just has a weird sense of humour. Or he was out for revenge.

The Twitter community had a great laugh – and of course wanted to know how the story ended. As Hughes reported, the camera came back to the couple five minutes later, Romeo had meanwhile returned. Whether his action prompted Juliet to say “yes” is unfortunately not known.
