NFL: Los Angeles Rams to Give Away Super Bowl Rings to Fans

Los Angeles Rams fans can look forward to a very special in-stadium promotion during the upcoming NFL season.

Special promotion from the Los Angeles Rams: The upcoming season marks the fifth anniversary of the franchise’s first Super Bowl title since moving to L.A. And to mark the occasion, fans will receive a special gift.

The franchise officially announced that the first 60,000 fans to attend the Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals at SoFi Stadium will receive a “limited-edition replica championship ring with a special feature.”

The fact that this promotion is taking place during the game against the Cardinals, of all teams, is no coincidence. According to U.S. media, it’s likely to be the home game with the largest attendance of Rams fans at the stadium.

The problem: The Rams—and the Las Vegas Raiders as well—had left the area to which they have since returned for about two decades. Consequently, many people living there grew up without a geographical connection to an NFL team—and are now fans of other teams.

Cardinals game chosen for a reason

When those fans come to town, the likelihood that locals will go to the stadium to support those teams is just as high as the likelihood of Rams fans showing up.

On top of that, many of the opponents in the upcoming season—such as the Giants, Bills, Cardinals, Chargers, Packers, Chiefs, Cowboys, and Seahawks—have fan bases that generally travel in large numbers to away games.

Since the Cardinals are expected to draw the smallest number of opposing fans, this game was likely chosen to ensure that the replicas actually end up on the fingers of Rams fans.
