Raiders receiver Davante Adams has been the subject of trade rumors for some time. The 31-year-old has now put a stop to them himself
“If I really wanted to leave, I’d be gone by now.” These words should reassure all Las Vegas Raiders fans, as they mean that receiver Davante Adams does not want to leave the franchise.
Trade rumors have been swirling around the 31-year-old for some time, which he himself addressed to “TheAthletic.com” on Sunday.
In addition to stating that he does not want to leave Las Vegas, Adams said: “This place, this is where I want to be.”
Statements that should please General Manager Tim Telesco. He himself recently noted that there was no interest in shipping the receiver
Adams impressed by Coach Pierce
By all accounts, Adams seems to like it in Las Vegas, and that’s because of one person in particular: Head Coach Antonio Pierce.
He was installed last season after the Raiders got off to a disastrous 3-5 false start under Josh McDaniels. Pierce won five of his nine games as the new coach.
“That helped the morale of the team a lot. That’s our guy. We just have to get to work now,” Adams had nothing but words of praise for his new coach.
The 31-year-old was an important part of the Raiders offense last season, catching 103 passes for 1144 yards and eight touchdowns. In his debut season in Las Vegas a year earlier, he even managed 1516 yards and 14 touchdowns on 100 catches.
