Jason Kelce has a new job: The 36-year-old is returning to the NFL shortly after his retirement
Jason Kelce is returning to the NFL – as an analyst for “ESPN”. The broadcaster made the announcement on Tuesday. Kelce has been signed for several years, according to a statement.
Kelce, who announced his retirement from active football after last season, will be on “Monday Night Countdown” every week starting next season, which runs during the regular season before Monday Night Football and the “ESPN” playoff games of the Super Wild Card and Divisional Round.
The six-time Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro will also be a member of “ESPN’s” Super Bowl studio coverage each year. There will also be additional studio appearances in the postseason, including during Championship Weekend. “Other opportunities are being explored,” it says.
“Turns out it was a short retirement!” said Kelce, who is looking forward to his new job. “‘ESPN’ was a staple in our household growing up, and the channel shaped me and my love of all sports. To now appear on the same screen is a full circle moment. And I mean, it’s freaking Monday Night Football! And I’m ready for football. “
