NFL investigated plays: Deshaun Watson fined

In the aftermath of the game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, the NFL has opened an investigation against quarterback Deshaun Watson and issued a fine. The Browns player was found to have committed multiple acts of unsportsmanlike conduct.

Deshaun Watson is making negative headlines again. The NFL has scrutinised several plays of the Cleveland Browns quarterback from the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers (22:26).

The reason for this are several scenes in which Watson pulls opposing players to the ground on the face grid. He is also accused of shoving a referee.

“All the plays are being analysed,” an anonymous source told Pro Football Talk.

Now the NFL has fined him a total of $35,513 for three offences, according to insider Ian Rapoport.

The NFL has the ability to suspend or fine players for “unsportsmanlike conduct” even if the scenes were not detected or penalised by the refereeing crew during the game.

Last season, the NFL suspended the quarterback for 11 games and fined him millions of dollars over the sexual abuse allegations.

In the still young season Watson has collected 389 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
