NFL: Highest number of positive coronatests worries the league – stricter measures considered

On Monday, more positive coronatests are counted in the NFL than ever before, including an omicron variant. The league is now considering stricter rules – which are already being implemented in isolated instances.

Munich – Is the NFL facing the next Corona problem?

An unusually high number of positive tests is apparently prompting the league and the players’ union to consider changes to the Covid protocols.

For example, “ESPN” reports that there were as many as 37 positive tests on Monday. Although the numbers are always higher at the beginning of the week because that is when all vaccinated players and staff are tested, the number is still surprising.

In the two weeks from 14 to 27 November, a total of 72 people tested positive, but yesterday on just one day 37 people tested positive.

Strict measures at five NFL teams

According to the report, the NFL sent out a memo to all teams on Monday, coupled with a request that all tier one and two employees receive booster vaccinations no later than Dec. 27.

According to “ESPN”, the people who tested positive include an Omikron variant for the first time; this is said to be present in an employee of the Washington football team.

In addition to the WFT, the Falcons, Lions, Vikings and Bears are also said to have tightened their measures. Among other things, vaccinated persons are now also tested daily there.
