NFL: Former teammate Fred Taylor on Tom Brady’s method of teasing rookies

In a podcast, Fred Taylor, former teammate of Tom Brady, talks about the quarterback’s method of teasing rookies at their debut.

Munich – Tom Brady is said to have a special method of bullying rookies on their debut, according to his former teammate Fred Taylor.

On “The Pivot Podcast,” Taylor joined former NFL players Channing Crowder and Ryan Clark, as well as Jets first-round pick Garrett Wilson, to talk about a variety of topics.

“They said we’re going to dinner together. It’s going to be cool,” the wide receiver said, initially looking forward to his debut. But then he got to hear an anecdote about Brady that may have dampened his anticipation.

Brady: Expensive wine on rookie’s tab

“When I was in New England, the team went out on the rookies’ dime. When the bill came, there was $50,000 or $60,000 on it because Tom ordered a bottle of wine at a cost of several thousand dollars, took a little sip and then said goodbye,” reported the longtime running back, who was traded to the Patriots in 2009 after 11 years with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“They’re not going to do 75,000 to me,” Wilson replied with a laugh. Whether he is right, however, remains to be seen.
