Every year at the NFL Draft, some picks are announced by representatives of the franchises. This year, Pat McAfee, among others, has the honor.
On April 16, the NFL named the former and active players who will announce their teams’ picks in rounds two and three of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The draft will be held April 23-25 in Pittsburgh, the first time it has been held in the Steel City since 1948. Round 1 will take place on Thursday, April 23, with Rounds 2 and 3 on Friday, April 24.
McAfee, Stallworth and Co.: Pennsylvania-born NFL legends taking part
Among the legends is Pat McAfee: the former Indianapolis Colts punter and current presenter will announce the Colts’ picks. McAfee comes from Plum, Pennsylvania, and is one of ten presenters born in the state of Pennsylvania.
The host Pittsburgh Steelers will be joined by three legends and an active player. Among the nine Pro Football Hall-of-Famers who will be on hand are two Steelers greats: Jerome Bettis (Class of 2015) and John Stallworth (Class of 2002). Both represent the Pittsburgh Steelers and will be announcing their selections in Rounds 2 and 3. Also Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. will announce one of his team’s picks.
Porter Jr. is one of four active NFL players to be used in the Day Two selections, he gets to announce the pick along with father Joey Porter Sr. who wore a Steelers jersey from 1999-2006 and won the Super Bowl with them in 2006.
The other active players who will step up to the microphone for a pick are running back James Conner (Arizona Cardinals), offensive tackle Brian O’Neill (Minnesota Vikings) and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (Tennessee Titans).
