NFL Combine: Kalon Barnes with record 40-yard dash – Gardner convinces

At the NFL Combine, the cornerbacks also put on a great show. Kalon Barnes even sets a record for the defensive players. The top cornerback can also convince.

Indianapolis/Munich – The NFL Combine is causing a stir this year, especially in the 40-Yard Dash.

On Sunday, two defensive players put big exclamation points on the rendezvous of potential NFL talent. Cornerback Tariq Woolen of Texas-San Antonio ran the 40 yards in 4.26 seconds, the fourth-fastest time in Combine history.

Given his height of 1.93 metres and weight of 92 kilograms, he is among the biggest cornerbacks ever to be part of an NFL draft.

His fellow cornerback Kalon Barnes of Baylor was even slightly faster. He ran the 40 yards in 4.23 seconds, setting a record because no defensive player has ever been faster. At the same time, it was the second-fastest time ever. Only wide receiver John Ross was faster in 2017.

The top prospect at the cornerback position, Ahmad Gardner, ran the 40 yards in 4.41 seconds, but easily managed the position-specific tasks.
