Big stage for Amon-Ra St. Brown!
The Detroit Lions wide receiver is one of a group of pass receivers who will take center stage in the new Netflix documentary “Receiver.”
The streaming service announced on Tuesday that the documentary series will be released in the summer. Last year, the series followed Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota during the 2022 season under the name “Quarterback”.
The other receivers include Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Justin Jefferson and Davante Adams.
Lots of stories
The storylines are wide-ranging. Samuel and Kittle reached the Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers, but lost it to the Kansas City Chiefs. Before that, the 49ers had eliminated the Detroit Lions led by St. Brown in the championship game.
Adams experienced a turbulent season with the Las Vegas Raiders with the dismissal of the coach and GM. And Vikings superstar Jefferson suffered from a thigh injury for a long time, but still ended up with over 1,000 yards, albeit not in the playoffs.
NFL Films, Omaha Productions and 2PM Productions are producing the series. “We’re excited to once again partner with Netflix and NFL Films to give fans an unprecedented look at what it’s like to play receiver at the highest level,” quarterback legend Peyton Manning said in a statement as part of the announcement. “As we did with ‘Quarterback,’ we look forward to telling the stories of five incredible receivers, each with their own unique personality, skill set and motivation that drives them to be the best. “
