Aaron Rodgers to the Steelers? If it’s up to Antonio Brown, it’s already a done deal.
Antonio Brown said goodbye to the big stage of the NFL as a player in January 2022. Wearing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey, the former star wide receiver left the field in the middle of the game and was subsequently released by the franchise.
Since then, Brown has been mainly concerned with himself and social media. Time and again, the 36-year-old has caused a stir with controversial posts.
Now Brown has done it again, apparently confirming one of the biggest deals of this year’s free agency.
On the platform X, Brown reposted a picture of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers alongside Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and wrote: “The deal is done… Aaron Rodgers to the Steelers.”
According to Brown, the long-time playmaker and four-time NFL MVP has signed a two-year contract in Pittsburgh.
Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh Steelers are said to have spoken
How credible Brown’s statement is remains questionable. None of the most renowned NFL insiders have yet reported specifically that Rodgers is moving to Steel City. Only Adam Schefter spoke of loose talks between the two parties.
However, Brown is confident: “CTESPN is always the first to have it,” AB wrote at X and added: “CTESPN is the most trusted source in the entire sports world.”
So how serious Brown actually is is highly questionable. After all, he has been using the term “CTESPN” for quite some time. In doing so, he makes fun of the serious illness “CTE” – chronic traumatic encephalopathy – which affects some NFL players due to many head injuries during or after their careers.
Rodgers to the Steelers? Atonio Brown was right before
Brown is also said to suffer from CTE, some NFL fans claim because of his questionable statements and his appearance in public. He makes fun of it and developed the compound term “CTESPN” in relation to the US news channel “ESPN”.
However, this is not the first time that Brown has predicted a Steelers deal. About a year ago, AB announced to many other NFL insiders that Russell Wilson was coming to Pittsburgh. In the end, that’s exactly what happened; the seven-time Pro Bowler and former Steelers superstar was right.
So Rodgers’ future remains open for the time being. The playmaker is one of the best free agents available and still wants to play in the NFL. Most recently, the 41-year-old was under contract for two seasons with the New York Jets.
