Multiple game suspension for Antonio Brown and Mike Edwards of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The duo falsified a vaccination certificate and are now being punished by the league for it.
Munich – Suspension for Antonio Brown and Mike Edwards of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The duo will be suspended by the league for three games and will also not receive any salary during this period. The reason: Brown and Edwards misrepresented their vaccination status and thus violated the league’s Corona regulations. Both have already accepted the punishment and have not used their right to appeal.
Brown’s lawyer, Sean Burstyn, stated that his client was vaccinated. “The NFL did its investigation and rather than go through the lengthy processes of an appeal, Mr. Brown accepted the penalty immediately,” Burstyn further opined. The Bucs star will “be in the shape of his life” when he returns in Week 16, Brown’s lawyer said.
Brown was investigated on suspicion of falsifying his vaccination certificate following earlier media reports. The investigation then confirmed the suspicions against him and two others – one of whom is his teammate Edwards. The third player is free agent John Franklin III, who must sit out three games if signed by another team.
This means that both Bucs professionals will be missing from the games at the Atlanta Falcons, against the Buffalo Bills and at the New Orleans Saints. In addition, there is the damage to the image of both athletes; Brown in particular has already committed several misdemeanours in the past.
