Bill Belichick is without a coaching job after being fired by the New England Patriots in 2024. Tom Brady comments on his ex-coach’s situation
Bill Belichick is without a coaching job in the NFL in 2024. It’s the first time this has happened since 1974.
Belichick had held talks with the Atlanta Falcons, but the franchise opted for Raheem Morris as the new head coach.
He is also said to have had talks with the Washington Commanders, but Dan Quinn is now the coach there.
According to The Athletic, there are several reasons why Belichick came away empty-handed, and they go deeper than his age (71).
Nevertheless, Tom Brady is one of those who didn’t expect there to be an NFL without Belichick so soon.
“I’m surprised the best coach of all time doesn’t have a job. Yeah, absolutely,” Brady said on his “Let’s Go! Podcast,” “But I’m surprised about a lot of things in the NFL. I’m surprised that when I was a free agent, a lot of teams didn’t want me.”
More so, “I was surprised that Steve Young started in the USFL and went to Tampa. I’m surprised Tampa traded Steve Young to the 49ers. There are a lot of things that don’t go exactly the way you want them to for one reason or another. “
