Football star Patrick Mahomes is making progress and is in good spirits for the upcoming play-off semi-final in the US professional league NFL despite his ankle problems. “It feels good,” said the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback four days before the clash with the Cincinnati Bengals. Mahomes was injured early in last weekend’s quarterfinal against the Jacksonville Jaguars (27-20).
Mahomes, who led the Chiefs to Super Bowl triumph in 2020, plans to practice Wednesday. “I’ve had a couple of days of treatment and a couple of days of rehab. I’m looking forward to getting on the field and seeing where I’m at,” the 27-year-old said ahead of the session.
Whether his mobility is limited because of the injury will be seen “in the course of the week”. But it was also important “not to aggravate the injury again”, Mahomes said.
