Deebo Samuel attends San Francisco 49ers minicamp. This could be an important step for a possible future collaboration after the receiver called for a trade in April.
Munich – What’s happening between Deebo Samuel and the San Francisco 49ers? After the wide receiver stayed away from voluntary workouts, the 26-year-old is participating in the “Niners'” mandatory minicamp. This is according to NFL insider and “ESPN” reporter Adam Schefter.
Samuel had called for a trade in April this year after he was not satisfied with a contract offer from the franchise.
Since then, head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch have repeatedly stated that Samuel should continue to play for the 49ers for a long time. Accordingly, a trade is said to be out of the question.

Samuel apparently wants contract including salary increase
According to consistent reports, Samuel is said to be demanding a significantly higher-paying contract and wants to enter the spheres of Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Stefon Diggs and A.J. Brown, all of whom signed hefty contracts this offseason.
Last season, Samuel caught passes for 1559 yards and seven touchdowns, also racked up 502 rushing yards for nine touchdowns. The second-round pick of the 2019 draft is entering the final year of his rookie contract.
Participating in the “Niners” minicamp could now be an important step towards a contract extension.
