Wilson’s Hail Mary drops into the end zone – Raiders pull past Jets

The Las Vegas Raiders win their second game since parting ways with head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler. All it takes is a touchdown

The Las Vegas Raiders have won the Sunday Night Game against the New York Jets 16:12 (6:9). The hosts only took the lead in the final quarter with the first and only touchdown of the game.

Michael Mayer provided the decisive score after a seven-yard pass from Aiden O’Connell. Otherwise, both teams only scored with field goals. Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson converted three, including one from 54 yards, while Greg Zuerlein hit two through the uprights for the Jets.

Gang Green got as close as 44 yards to the Raiders’ end zone on the final drive, but neither Davante Adams nor Kristian Wilkerson were able to secure Zach Wilson’s Hail Mary in the turmoil in the end zone. The egg landed on the turf in the end zone.

The Jets playmaker had thrown an interception to Robert Spillane earlier in the drive. In total, he threw for 263 yards and ran for 54 yards.

The most successful pass receiver was Garrett Wilson, who caught nine of 14 throws in his direction and thus gained 93 yards.

For the Raiders, O’Connell totaled 153 passing yards with one interception and three yards on the ground. In the second win in the second game since head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler parted ways, Josh Jacobs rushed for 116 yards on 27 attempts, while Adams clawed six of 13 throws in his direction for 86 yards.

Raiders now face Jets

Las Vegas evened its record to 5-5 under interim head coach Antonio Pierce and moved past the Jets, who are 4-5 and slowly losing sight of the playoff picture.

In Week 11, the Raiders take on the Miami Dolphins in the early slot on Sunday. The Jets continue in the late slot with a divisional clash at the Bufallo Bills.
