Tennessee Titans: Running back Hassan Haskins arrested – assault by strangulation?

Trouble for the Tennessee Titans. Running back Hassan Haskins is arrested by police. A charge of aggravated assault by strangulation is in the works.

Unfavourable news for the Tennessee Titans. Running back Hassan Haskins was arrested Thursday and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation. He was released the same day on $10,000 bail, according to Nashville police and related court documents.

According to officials, the NFL player had already become angry on 22 June after his girlfriend liked another man’s Instagram photo. As a result, the two allegedly got into a heated argument.

According to ESPN, the victim first fled into a closet and threw the running back’s shoes to the ground. Haskins allegedly followed her, pulled her out of the closet and pushed her to the ground, causing a head injury.

The athlete then allegedly threw his girlfriend onto a bed and choked her there with both hands for between ten and 15 seconds. However, the victim fought back, slapped the 23-year-old and kicked him, whereupon he allegedly threw her to the floor and choked her again.

The cause of the athlete’s arrest was then a second incident that allegedly took place last Thursday. So the couple was having dinner together, but Haskins probably left his girlfriend behind and drove home alone. When the lady finally arrived at the house they shared, she allegedly threw a glass at him and then fled to the bedroom.

The Titans player then allegedly kicked in the door, ripped a chain from her neck and smashed her phone.

His girlfriend then allegedly grabbed his phone and discovered Snapchat notifications in it with photos of naked women, this in turn allegedly led to an attack on her part.

Girlfriend must also answer for her actions

So the athlete told police that his girlfriend attacked him with a broom, threw a PlayStation at him and choked him from behind. The lady was also arrested by the police and charged with grievous bodily harm by strangulation and vandalism. She too was allowed to leave after posting bail.

A court date is scheduled for 10 July on the matter. Meanwhile, the Tennessee Titans said in a statement, “We are aware of the situation and are gathering more information.”

Hassan Haskins was drafted by the Titans in the fourth round in 2022.
