Tennessee Titans: Derrick Henry set to return

The Tennessee Titans will most likely be able to rely on their star running back again in the playoffs.

Munich/Nashville – Good news for the Tennessee Titans: Running back Derrick Henry could return to the active roster just in time for the playoffs.

The running back has made a surprisingly quick recovery from the broken foot he suffered on Game 8 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is considering taking him off the injured list as early as this week.

Decision to be made mid-week

“We have talked about it. We’ll see where it goes. We’ll probably make a decision mid-week,” the coach said.

Should the Nashville club take Henry off Injured Reserve, he must be called up to the 53-man roster within 21 days.

It is conceivable that Henry could make his comeback as early as against the Houston Texans, but Vrabel is unlikely to want to take any chances.

Rather, he would take advantage of the full window if Henry practices this week and the Titans retain the lock on first place in the AFC by defeating the Texans next Sunday.

Then Henry could be back on the field in time for the first knockout game.
