NFL Week 16: Miami Dolphins secure playoff spot – Buccaneers thrash Jaguars

In a thrilling game, Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders scores a last-second winner against the Dallas Cowboys. The Jacksonville Jaguars experience a bitter evening. The recap of the NFL’s late Sunday games in Week 16

Dallas Cowboys at Miami Dolphins 20:22

With the clock running out, Jason Sanders has fired the Miami Dolphins into the playoffs.

The kicker hit from 29 yards to make the final score 22:20 against the Dallas Cowboys and decide the exciting top game.

The Dolphins now stand at 11-4 and can no longer be ousted from the playoffs. Sanders generally put in a strong performance and scored a total of 16 points with five field goals and an extra point.

Running back Raheem Mostert scored the Dolphins’ only touchdown.

For the Cowboys, quarterback Dak Prescott (253 yards, 2 touchdowns) and receiver CeeDee Lamb (118 yards, 1 touchdown) were the most noticeable players.

With a record of 10-5, Dallas remains on course for the playoffs.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 12:30

The Jacksonville Jaguars had a bitter evening in their Florida duel with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, suffering their fourth consecutive defeat in a 12-30 loss to the strong Bucs.

The Buccaneers led 30-0 in the third quarter, but the Jaguars were at least able to make the result a little more bearable.

It was bitter, however, that Trevor Lawrence (211 passing yards, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions) was injured again. Having recently suffered an ankle injury and a concussion, the quarterback had to leave the pitch at the start of the final quarter with a shoulder injury.

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield delivered a sparkling performance with 284 yards and two touchdown passes to Mike Evans.

Both teams are now 8-7 and have their sights set on the playoffs.

Arizona Cardinals at Chicago Bears 27:16

Cairo Santos removed the last doubts about the Chicago Bears’ victory shortly before the end, hitting a field goal with just under a minute on the clock to make the final score 27:16 against the Arizona Cardinals.

It was Chicago’s fourth home win in a row, with quarterback Justin Field throwing for 170 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 97 yards and added a rushing touchdown to his stats.

The Bears improved their record to 6-9, but only have a theoretical chance of making the playoffs.

The Cardinals stand at 3-12.
