NFL: Victory for the Houston Texans! Dallas Cowboys’ horror series continues

The Dallas Cowboys can no longer win in their own stadium. The 2023 playoffs were the sixth consecutive defeat against the Houston Texans.

Home games remain a pain for the Dallas Cowboys!

At the end of Week 11 of the NFL, “America’s Team” conceded a 10-34 defeat against the Houston Texans. It was their fifth consecutive loss this season, after the Cowboys were still 3-2 after beating the Steelers in early October.

It was also their fifth straight loss at home. The points in that period: 101-235. Including the 2023 playoffs, it was even their sixth straight loss at home.

The Cowboys are now facing a disastrous 3-7 record and the wreckage of the season, given their traditionally high ambitions.

Fittingly, hours before the game, the roof of the $1.3 billion arena was to be reopened for the first time since October 2022, with part of it collapsing onto the field. Nobody was hurt in the incident and the roof was then closed again. “I don’t know if there’s anything other than the obvious – and that’s that we’re just not playing very well,” said club owner Jerry Jones.

The Texans, on the other hand, were able to stop a mini-crisis of two consecutive defeats with the win. They are back on track with a 7-4 record and still top the AFC South.

The man of the evening was running back Joe Mixon, who ran for three touchdowns and a total of 109 yards. Quarterback C.J. Stroud, on the other hand, is still in the throes of a minor creative crisis. He completed 23 of 34 passes for 257 yards and threw an interception.

Cooper Rush, who replaced the injured Dak Prescott, completed 32 of 55 passes for 354 yards to one touchdown and one interception.

It was a bitter defeat for the Cowboys, who played better than in their last few games but were not effective enough offensively: tight end Jake Feruson and offensive linemen Tyler Guyton, Zack Martin and Tyler Smith sustained injuries. It is unclear how long they will be out.

The Cowboys face the Washington Commanders in Week 12, while the Texans face the Tennessee Titans.
