The Kansas City Chiefs are to be honored for their Super Bowl victory in February 2020. The White House reception was canceled at the time due to the coronavirus.
Great honor for the Kansas City Chiefs and superstar Patrick Mahomes. Or rather not?
US President Donald Trump has invited the team to an official reception.
No, not as consolation for losing the Super Bowl in February to the Philadelphia Eagles (22-40).
According to Trump, the reception at the White House, which was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus, will be rescheduled. Five years after their triumph in Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers.
“I look forward to welcoming the Eagles,” Trump said, adding: “We will then host the Kansas City Chiefs, who were unable to attend due to Covid,” Trump said on “Outkick”.
Kansas City Chiefs: Date of the visit has not yet been set
He did not mention a date for the Chiefs’ visit. The Eagles are scheduled to be received at the White House on April 28.
There had been a lot of fuss about this visit because the Eagles actually did not want to be seen in the White House with US President Trump. In March, however, they did an about-face.
