NFL – Schedule changes: “Downgrade” for New England Patriots

The NFL has made changes to the schedule for Week 6. As a result, the New England Patriots lose an attractive slot.

There are two changes in Week 6 of the current NFL season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ home game against the San Francisco 49ers has been moved from 7:00 p.m. German time (1:00 p.m. local time) to 10:25 p.m. (4:25 p.m. local time), as announced by the league.

In exchange, another game will move to the earlier slot: The New Orleans Saints’ home game against the New England Patriots has been moved up from 10:25 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The reason for the adjustment is based on sporting considerations: the Buccaneers and 49ers have a 3-1 record, while the Patriots are 2-2 and the Saints are 0-4. The Saints are one of only three teams without a win.

Admittedly, the Patriots, the most successful NFL team of the last 25 years, have had to move out of the late slot. But given the state of the Saints, it is likely that the game will be a relatively clear-cut affair.

The Saints are rebuilding, and their two most recent losses – 13-44 against the Seahawks and 19-31 against the Bills – were particularly decisive.

However, it is quite possible that the statistics will soon look better. In Week 5, the struggling New York Giants (1-3) are the opponents.
