NFL: Odell Beckham Jr. signs with the Miami Dolphins

New franchise for Odell Beckham Jr. The wide receiver joins the Miami Dolphins

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has found a new team. The 31-year-old has signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The pass receiver is set to receive a salary of 8.25 million dollars for his services.

It is also said that other teams wanted to put more money on the table for the three-time Pro Bowl participant, but he turned them down. The fit with the Dolphins was more important to the receiver.

Beckham Jr. began his career with the New York Giants, where he played from 2014 to 2018 and made a name for himself with strong performances, especially in his first three years.

After that, the receiver’s performances went downhill – as did his physical health. After a trade to the Browns, OBJ ended up with the Rams at the end of 2021, with whom he even won the Super Bowl.

Bitter: He tore his ACL in the NFL final and missed the entire 2022 season. He celebrated his comeback with the Ravens in 2023, but only managed 35 receptions and three touchdowns in 14 games

OBJ probably only fourth option in Miami

As the news site “NBC Miami” reports, Beckham Jr. is not expected to shoulder the bulk of the Dolphins’ offense. After all, the franchise has several star receivers at its disposal.

Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle had strong performances last season, both totaling more than 1,000 receiving yards. Hill was even the NFL’s statistical leader with 1799 yards and 13 touchdowns.

US experts also expect Cedrick Wilson Jr. to be ahead of OBJ, which means he could possibly only become the Dolphins’ number four receiver.

But even if Beckham’s performances have tended to decline in recent years, with 16.1 yards per reception OBJ showed with the Ravens that he can still be good for big plays.
