And that’s probably what the Patriots want to do, as The Athletic reports. To find a successor to Mac Jones, who has been largely disappointing in three years in the NFL.

New head coach Jerod Mayo is on hand at the Scouting Combine to talk to potential candidates.

Like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels, who should come off the board immediately. Michael Penix, J.J. McCarthy and Bo Nix are also considered possible first-round candidates.

The interviews surrounding the Combine are all about getting a feel for the talent in order to be prepared not only in the athletic aspects, but the human aspects as well.

Specifically, Kirk Cousins, Baker Mayfield, Ryan Tannehill, Joe Flacco and Jacoby Brissett, according to the report. But they all come with high price tags or big question marks about their future performance.
