Who makes the personnel decisions around the roster for the New England Patriots after the departure of Bill Belichick? The Patriots find an internal solution.
Even after the Bill Belichick era, there will be no classic general manager at the New England Patriots – at least no one with that title. As team owner Robert Kraft announced, Eliot Wolf will officially be appointed Executive Vice President of Player Personnel. The 42-year-old had already been in charge of the team’s personnel on an interim basis.
So the post-Bill Belichick Patriots still won’t have a general manager in title. But Eliot Wolf’s role will include many GM duties: overall direction of the personnel department, management of the salary cap and in control of the 53-man roster. https://t.co/CcVCQYCQku

Kraft was delighted with Wolf during the announcement and is positive about the future. “I was impressed with Eliot’s leadership style and experience and am delighted that he has agreed to take on this position,” Bleacher Report quoted the team owner as saying.
The offseason was initially about “watching and seeing how they manage the personnel decisions. “
Patriots under pressure: Wolf must deliver directly
The first major decision Wolff had to make was the selection of quarterback Drake Maye, who joined the Patriots as the No. 3 pick. He also changed the roster by drafting wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk and signing free agents Mike Onwenu, Josh Uche and Kyle Dugger.
