Robert Kraft reveals the NFL’s master plan! The owner of the New England Patriots talks revealingly about his ideas for the future. And he sees them as inevitable.
“Every team will have to play internationally in one season.”
Robert Kraft drops a bombshell!
The owner of the New England Patriots spoke in a radio interview about the NFL’s vision and how the future should be shaped.
The goal, of course, is to continue to grow and become even stronger economically. Kraft elaborates on this and shares some insider information.
Kraft: 18 regular season games, fewer preseason games
“We’re going to push this issue further now,” Kraft said on “98.5 – The Sports Hub.” Not only should every franchise play abroad once per season, but a further expansion of the schedule is also necessary and planned.
“Each team will have 18 games per season, but one less game in the preseason.” This would mean only two preseason games for preparation. And an increase from 17 to 18 games in the regular season.
This would be a change that the NFLPA is sure to object to. The players’ union has repeatedly pointed out that this increases the risk of injury and that players are not fans of playing more games abroad or more games in general.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft says the NFL wants to move to an 18-game regular season, reduce the preseason from three games to two, and have every NFL team play an international game each season.

Kraft explains the idea: “Among other things, it’s important to increase the salary budget. That’s important to keep the franchise happy. We’re slowly reaching our limits. 93 of the 100 most popular TV programs of the year are NFL games! Think about that, it’s crazy. The Amazon game on Sunday a few weeks ago had 31 million streams!“
In the end, Kraft comes across as a pure businessman: ”As long as we profit from it and are rewarded, we will continue to keep everyone happy.”
