The Las Vegas Raiders are looking for a new head coach. They have one candidate in mind, with Tom Brady helping a lot.

Tom Brady is actively shaping the future of the Las Vegas Raiders.

This applies not only to the dismissal of General Manager Tom Telesco, for which Brady is said to have been largely responsible.

Brady is also expected to take the lead in the search for a new sporting director. As he is doing now in the interview with Ben Johnson, who is currently still offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions but is in high demand among NFL teams.

The same goes for the Raiders and Brady. “Las Vegas is said to be in love with Johnson,” sources say, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

The former quarterback Brady, who is a minority owner of the Raiders, is said to have pushed for the Lions OC to be interviewed, Rapoport reports. In essence, Brady recruited Johnson for an interview, Rapoport continues.

After all, the Raiders don’t have much potential for quick success at the moment, given the fresh start at the top and a roster that needs to be overhauled. But that’s exactly what can be appealing, not to mention working with Brady. According to reports, Johnson is particularly keen to be on the same wavelength as those in charge, such as the GM.

Johnson is competing for the Super Bowl again with the Lions. After the team only lost in the NFC Championship Game in the previous season, this time, as the best team in the NFC, they have a bye week and will not enter the fray until the Divisional Round.

Johnson is responsible for making the Lions offense around Amon-Ra St. Brown one of the best in the NFL. Other teams are aware of this, which is why Johnson has conducted interviews with the Raiders, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to the report, he is keeping his options open and weighing up which one suits him best. He seems to be a real hit with the Raiders already.
