Tickets for the game between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt in November were sold out within minutes. Almost three million fans were on the waiting list. One lucky fan, however, unexpectedly received a ticket much later.
The rush for tickets for the game between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt in November exceeded all dimensions.
Within a very short time, the tickets were sold out. It was actually only a matter of minutes – or was it? Because apparently there was another glitch in the ticket sales process at “Ticketmaster” besides the waiting list loophole.
NFL in Frankfurt: Fan still receives ticket far after sales start
“I read everywhere that people flew out of the queues and you could somehow skip to the front. I did that too, by going out once and going back in,”
Though the social media stunt moved the die-hard football fan up the waiting list, it wasn’t enough to get one of the much-awaited tickets for the time being.
“I waited a long time and then it struck me: Oh my gosh, I haven’t even been kicked out yet. Four, three or two tickets – none of them worked. But at 1:15 p.m. I got another ticket. But after that, even one ticket didn’t work,” continued Godt, who could hardly believe his luck:
“The wait has totally paid off. Now, as a Patriots fan, I can go to Frankfurt in November after all.”
Almost three million supporters were on the waiting list in the meantime. This even eclipsed the ticket requests for the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Miami Dolphins a good a fortnight ago.
