NFL: Hate comments against Baltimore Ravens’ Mark Andrews – Bills fans set up donation campaign

After the Baltimore Ravens were knocked out of the playoffs, Mark Andrews and his girlfriend were the victims of hate comments on social media. Fans of the Buffalo Bills are now reacting with an honorable donation campaign.

Mark Andrews was the tragic figure in the Baltimore Ravens’ playoff exit in the Divisional Round of the NFL against the Buffalo Bills (25-27).

The 29-year-old dropped quarterback Lamar Jackson’s pass on the two-point conversion just before the end, costing the Ravens their last chance to tie the game. Earlier in the game, an Andrews fumble also led to points for the Bills.

Many disappointed fans then bombarded the tight end and his girlfriend, Elena Yates, with hate comments on social media.

That’s why the influencer, who has about 25,000 followers on Instagram, has since disabled the comment function on her social media accounts to prevent further hate messages.

Buffalo Bills fans also took notice and immediately launched a fundraising campaign for Andrews’ foundation to fight juvenile diabetes. The fans doubled the goal of raising at least $5,000 after just one day, and over $10,000 has now been raised.

It is not the first time that Bills fans have raised money for the opponent after a playoff victory. It was also in 2021 after a win against the Ravens that Bills fans raised money for one of Lamar Jackson’s foundations. Jackson suffered a concussion in the loss four years ago. At the time, an incredible $435,000 was raised.
