The draft order is largely fixed. The first pick in 2025 goes to the Tennessee Titans.
Before the final day of the season, four NFL teams still had a mathematical chance of getting the very first pick in this year’s NFL Draft.
Most recently, the New York Giants were still in the “pole position”, but their win in Week 17 only gave them a chance from a mathematical point of view. One thing was clear, however: if the New England Patriots lost their game, they would get the number one pick in 2025.
In the end, however, it didn’t turn out that way: New England won their game against the Buffalo Bills and will not be picking first in the draft.
In addition to the Patriots and the Giants, the Cleveland Browns and, until recently, the Tennessee Titans also had the chance to get the first pick. Since the Titans lost 14-23 to the Houston Texans, the pick goes to Tennessee.
If both the Patriots and the Titans had won their games, the first pick would have gone to Cleveland. The Browns had already lost to the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night.
What the Titans will do with their pick is impossible to say at this point. Since Will Levis has not really been able to convince so far, it cannot be ruled out that Tennessee will go after the potentially best quarterback in the draft: Shadeur Sanders.
This determines the order of the first three picks:
- 1 Tennessee Titans
- 2 Cleveland Browns
- 3 New York Giants
