Kobee Minor is the last player to be picked in the NFL Draft, landing with the New England Patriots. He follows in the footsteps of Jaylen Key.
The 2025 NFL Draft is history! Over three days and seven rounds, the 32 NFL teams have strengthened their rosters.
The New England Patriots closed the final act with the 257th pick. The last pick in the draft is traditionally referred to as “Mr. Irrelevant.” This year, defensive back Kobee Minor can claim the title.
He follows Jaylen Key, who was selected by the New York Jets last year.
Minor will be hoping to follow a similar career path to some of his predecessors.
Kobee Minor: Long college career
Quarterback Brock Purdy (Mr. Irrelevant 2022) has established himself as the starter for the San Francisco 49ers, kicker Ryan Succop (Mr. Irrelevant 2009) enjoyed a long NFL career, and Marty Moore (1994) made a name for himself as a linebacker and special teamer.
Minor started his college career at Texas Tech and made his debut as a freshman in his first season. In 2023, he moved to Indiana, and last season he played for the Memphis Tigers.
In the past season, he had 38 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, and two forced fumbles. He did not record a single interception in his entire college career.
