NFL – Deion Sanders Thinks the Cleveland Browns Are on the Right Track

NFL legend Deion Sanders believes in the future of the Cleveland Browns. Sanders is particularly enthusiastic about star defensive end Myles Garrett and has strong words regarding potential trade rumors.

College coach and NFL legend Deion Sanders sees promising development with the Cleveland Browns and apparently also believes in a bright future for his son, Shedeur Sanders, in Cleveland.

During an appearance on the podcast “The Barbershop,” Sanders raved about the team’s progress. He pointed to the strong rookie classes from last season and the current one.

“They’re building something there that could be massive. They’re not far off,” said Sanders. However, he still sees areas that need work: “Of course, they need stability at the quarterback position. Of course, they need stability on the offensive line. But they have everything else.”

Sanders: “You get someone like Garrett once in a lifetime”

Sanders was particularly clear on the topic of Myles Garrett. There are constant discussions about whether the Browns should trade their superstar to acquire draft picks in return. For Sanders, however, trading Garrett would be a serious mistake.

“I’m tired of constantly hearing that they should trade him,” Sanders continued. “That makes absolutely no sense to me. You only get a player like that once in a lifetime.“

Garrett is ”a true winner“ and a player you hardly ever find these days. Sanders even jokingly made it clear just how invaluable he is to him: You could only trade Garrett ”if you got Mom, Dad, Uncle, cousins, and the whole family back in return.”

Sanders wants to meet with Monken

The central question in Cleveland thus remains the quarterback position. While Deshaun Watson remains under pressure, many hopes are already pinned on Shedeur Sanders, who is entering his second season and wants to retain the starting role.

It comes as little surprise that his father, Deion, believes his son is capable of being a long-term solution. According to “NBC Sports,” Sanders is also planning a meeting with the new Browns coach, Todd Monken, to discuss the best possible path for Shedeur’s development in Cleveland.
