The Dallas Cowboys have traded for a new backup quarterback. Joe Milton comes from the New England Patiots.
“ESPN” reports that backup quarterback Joe Milton of the New England Patriots is being traded to the Dallas Cowboys along with a seventh-round pick. The Patriots will receive a fifth-round pick in the NFL Draft in return.
This is the Cowboys’ response to the departure of Cooper Rush, who will sit behind Lamar Jackson for the Baltimore Ravens next season.

Milton played twice last season. He was only the third quarterback for the Pats behind future star Drake Maye and experienced Joshua Dobbs.
Nevertheless, it has been reported time and again that the Patriots do not want to trade the coveted substitute before the draft. They drafted him in the sixth round of last year’s NFL draft.
