Things can quickly get heated during the NFL teams’ training camps. Jerod Mayo, head coach of the New England Patriots, has now put his foot down.

The preparations of the 32 teams for the upcoming NFL season are in full swing and the start of the season is just around the corner.

As part of the training camps, teams often agree on joint training sessions to create an even better game simulation.

Sparks often fly in the process. Year after year, brawls break out between the teams’ players, sometimes resulting in injuries. For Jerod Mayo, Head Coach of the New England Patriots, this is a no-go.

Patriots: Mayo admonishes his players

According to NFL insider Mike Reiss, the Patriots’ new boss has warned his players against the joint unit with the Philadelphia Eagles, threatening tough measures.

Those who are starters and get into fights will play the entire preseason. If you are one of the backups and fight, you don’t play at all.

Normally, starters are largely spared in the preseason games, while backups can recommend themselves for bigger roles. With Mayo, though, you have to play by the rules.
