The Baltimore Ravens are heading into the season with new coaches. Lamar Jackson has nothing but praise – and a commitment.

The Baltimore Ravens and the Super Bowl – so far, the hunt for the Vince Lombardi Trophy has been in vain. Even though the window for a Super Bowl run has been open for a few years with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson.

For 2026, the Ravens have primarily made changes to the coaching staff. For example, Jesse Minter is the new head coach, tasked with bringing the Ravens significantly closer to their ultimate goal.

So far, Jackson has nothing but positive things to say about the man who succeeded John Harbaugh. The former coach spent 18 years in Baltimore and was the one who selected Jackson with the 32nd pick in the 2018 draft.

Lamar Jackson: “Always a smile on his face”

While he had warm words for his former coach (“Great respect for him”), he is looking forward to a new era with Minter.

“Man, he’s a really cool guy. He always has a smile on his face,” Jackson said Wednesday after the Ravens’ OTA session. “I told him on the field today: ‘Every time I walk into the building, you’re smiling.’ … That’s exactly the kind of person you need on the team.”

It’s different. Different and new, Jackson said. “Right now, everything feels kind of new. But it’s cool. The atmosphere is relaxed. I’m just looking forward to the season.”

And also looking forward to a long-term future in Baltimore? His contract expires in 2027; the goal is to reach an agreement and sign an extension as soon as possible.

Lamar Jackson: Lots of love for the Ravens

“Absolutely. I love the Baltimore Ravens,” Jackson said when asked if he wanted to stay in Baltimore long-term. “I love this organization. I love this city. This is the team that drafted me. The people here have shown me a lot of love. And I have just as much love for the city and this team. Like I told you: The restructuring is done. I’m fine with that. But I love Baltimore. Everyone should know that by now.”
