NFL – After being let go by the New York Jets: Robert Saleh takes over job with the Green Bay Packers

Robert Saleh has a new job with the Green Bay Packers after being let go by the New York Jets.

Two weeks ago, the New York Jets responded to their poor start to the new NFL season by firing Robert Saleh.

On Wednesday, the 45-year-old was spotted back on the training ground – with the Green Bay Packers.

As head coach Matt LaFleur revealed, Saleh will serve as an offensive consultant in the future. Saleh, actually known as a defensive mastermind, is expected to “bring a fresh perspective”.

It’s no surprise that the 45-year-old has found a job in Green Bay, of all places. LaFleur and Saleh have been friends for many years; he was even the ex-Jets coach’s best man.

And the two also have a shared athletic past. From 2004, the duo were part of the coaching staff at Central Michigan Chippewas College, and from 2008, they both worked with the Houston Texans.

Saleh took over the Jets for the 2021 season and celebrated his debut as head coach there with Matt’s brother Mike as offensive coordinator. Prior to that, he won the Super Bowl as the Seattle Seahawks’ defensive quality control coach. Saleh then worked for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the San Francisco 49ers.
