New York Jets: Aaron Rodgers is not thinking about ending his career

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers seems to have settled in well with the New York Jets. During a press conference he hints at playing a few more years in the NFL.

Just before quarterback Aaron Rodgers spent four days in darkness and complete isolation earlier this year, he was “90 percent” mentally retired from football.

The days in isolation and the subsequent trade to the New York Jets seem to have blown those thoughts away.

At a press conference, Rodgers now announced in regards to his new employer, “This is a multi-year partnership.”

Rodgers signed a new employment contract just a few days ago, tying him to the Jets for the next three years. In doing so, he agreed to a total salary cut of 35 million US dollars, which should give the team more leeway when negotiating with potential top performers.

“I want to play for a few more years. As long as my body is fit, I feel good and I’m still needed, I’ll be on the field,” Rodgers said.

On Thursday night, however, the four-time MVP will merely be on the sidelines. In the opening game of the preseason (Hall of Fame Game) between the Jets and Cleveland Browns, former first-round pick Zach Wilson is expected to lead the Jets onto the turf as the starter.
