New York Jets: Aaron Rodgers already comparing Garrett Wilson to Davante Adams.

Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams were one of the best duos in NFL history. But now the 39-year-old seems to have already found a new “favourite receiver” in New York. The four-time MVP is full of praise for Garrett Wilson.

Aaron Rodgers’ debut in a New York Jets jersey is getting closer and closer. And already the 39-year-old is really convinced of one of his new teammates. The talk is of Garrett Wilson. The wide receiver is entering his second NFL season and seems to have impressed his new passer during OTAs and the first joint practice sessions.

So much so, in fact, that Rodgers got carried away comparing the 22-year-old to Davante Adams. He told the team website, “I love Davante and I saw him this summer. He’s still in a category all his own. But that Wilson reminds me of Adams in terms of his ability to get in and out of breaks and his quick twitch at the line of scrimmage.” High praise for last year’s rookie!

The latter should be pleased with Rodgers’ statements for a whole other reason. As Wilson has stated many times in the past, Adams was one of his favourite receivers and role models growing up. “I try to take a lot of what he did well,” the Jets’ No. 17 said.

New York Jets: Fellow wide receiver Lazard also draws comparisons to Adams

Also Allen Lazard, ex-colleague of Davante Adams with the Packers and now also in New York, strikes a similar note as Rodgers: “Garrett is incredible. I see a lot of similarity with Davante. For me, Davante is the best in the league, for sure. But there’s a lot of things they’re similar in, in terms of their mannerisms, their personalities, their skill sets. “

What Wilson can do in the NFL, he hinted at last season. He was named Offensive Rookie of the Year with 1,103 receiving yards and four touchdowns. If the chemistry between Wilson and quarterback legend Aaron Rodgers is indeed right, Jets fans can probably look forward to even better numbers.
