Kayshon Boutte probably placed over 8,900 illegal bets during his time in college. Now the New England Patriots wide receiver has apparently been arrested

Patriots receiver Kayshon Boutte was arrested on Thursday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, reports “ESPN”.

The 21-year-old is alleged to have placed over 8,900 sports bets during his time in college at Louisiana State University from April 2022 to May 2023 – as a minor. This is because betting is only permitted in the USA from the age of 21.

According to local police, Boutte is said to have placed 17 college football bets and six bets involving his own team, the LSU Tigers, among others.

The wide receiver allegedly used a pseudonym to open an account with a betting site.

“The New England Patriots are aware that Kayshon Boutte is cooperating with the Louisiana State Police in their investigation,” an NFL team spokesman said.

Boutte, a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, collected just five tackles as a rookie, recording two catches for 19 yards.
