New England Patriots: Owner Robert Kraft announces changes

After losing to the Bills, the Patriots finish the season with just eight wins, the third fewest in the Bill Belichick era. In a letter to season ticket holders, the team owner announces changes.

“Title Town,” that’s what fans in the New England area call the city of Boston. Not without reason, the Boston Celtics are record champions in the NBA (17), the New England Patriots – together with the Pittsburgh Steelers – record champions in the NFL (6 titles).

The end of the 2022 season was all the more disappointing for the Patriots. After losing to the Buffalo Bills, the Patriots finish the season with eight wins and nine losses. Only in the 2000 and 2020 seasons, both without Tom Brady, was New England weaker under head coach Bill Belichick.

Kraft announces: “Will put everything to the test “

In a letter to Patriots season ticket holders, owner Robert Kraft has now addressed the fans. “Our season unfortunately ended earlier than we had hoped,” the 81-year-old stated. “Rest assured: No one is happy with this result!”

The billionaire went on to announce his intention to put everything to the test. “We will critically evaluate everything in the coming weeks. And in all parts of our organisation,” Kraft wrote.

While Bill Belichick announced he would return as head coach in 2023, it’s the offense around playcaller Matt Patricia and, to some extent, quarterback Mac Jones that have come under criticism. Insiders expect Patricia to be replaced as offensive coordinator.
