JuJu Smith-Schuster is the New England Patriots’ newest acquisition at the receiver position. From the outside, however, the Pats’ offense is getting some criticism. Smith-Schuster, however, sees it differently – and has only words of praise for his quarterback Mac Jones.

There was good cheer at the New England Patriots media roundtable last Tuesday.

No wonder, instead of the usually grumpy looking Bill Belichick, new receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was on hand to answer reporters’ questions. And he exuded a lot of positivity around the podium.

While there is plenty of criticism for the Patriots offense and questions as to why it wasn’t bolstered in the draft until the 6th round, JuJu sees no problem. “We have enough tools to work with in the offense,” the reigning Super Bowl champion explained.

There was also an explanation right afterward, “We have guys who can run down the field, who can go short…. The crazy thing is, until I got here, I didn’t know how versatile this offense was,” Smith-Schuster said. “You have guys who can line up as receivers or running backs. So many different opportunities for Mac (Jones) to work with. “

In addition to Smith-Schuster, Davante Parker, Kendrick Bourne and Tyquan Thornton are available as receivers, along with late draftees Kayshon Boutte and Demario Douglas. In the backfield, Rhamondre Stevenson in particular shined with his versatility.

Quarterback Mac Jones has also been the subject of much criticism, most recently Head Coach Bill Belichick reportedly even wanted to trade him away.

The playmaker certainly has Smith-Schuster’s confidence and believes his performance will improve. “There are no limits for him. ‘Sky is the limit,'” JuJu explains.
