Former New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung faces trial for domestic violence. Chung allegedly assaulted the mother of his child.
Foxborough/Munich – Trouble in the Chung house! Patrick Chung had to stand trial on 26 October. This is what “ESPN” reports.
According to the indictment, the former safety of the New England Patriots attacked the mother of his child. Chung, who has since retired, allegedly pushed his ex-wife and then punched her in the face.
Chung himself did not want to testify, but pleaded not to have committed the crime. The 34-year-old’s fiancée stated that Chung’s ex-wife allegedly attacked the former safety first.
Chung faces trouble over old charge
After the first hearing, Chung was released on bail ($10,000), but the judge still ordered a restraining order saying Chung cannot go near his ex-wife for a year. The case will be heard further on 7 January.
Brisant: In January 2020, a drug possession charge against the former Patriots star was dropped. The condition was that Chung not be otherwise convicted for two years. So Chung’s ex-wife’s charges could be his undoing in that regard too.
