There’s apparently a lot of heat on the New England Patriots after it was reported that head coach Bill Belichick has offered his quarterback Mac Jones up for trade.

The news reportedly did not go over well at all in the franchise’s locker room. “I’ve talked to players who are not happy about the Patriots and their potential interest in trading Mac Jones being in the public eye,” Phil Perry of “NBC Sports Boston” said.

He said the players, who were not named, were unhappy personally as well as with the way the playmaker was handled. “They’re not happy about the 2022 season going into 2023. “

The relationship between Belichick and the former first-round pick reportedly took a massive turn for the worse after the quarterback sought outside counsel over the course of last season out of frustration with the lame-duck offense under offensive coordinator Matt Patricia and quarterbacks coach Joe Judge.

Belichick makes no guarantees
