Lamar Jackson looks more toned than ever just a few months before the start of the season. Off the field, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback hinted that a contract extension could be on the cards.

Munich – “I need $” is emblazoned on the gold-engraved Grillz, this attachment on the incisors that Lamar Jackson has made his new profile picture on Twitter and posted on his Instagram story.

In German: Ich brauche Geld. A nod to the Baltimore Ravens?

Rumours about a contract extension for the quarterback have been circulating for months. Most recently, Jackson asserted that he would like to spend “his entire career” with the Maryland club.

His employer has reportedly already made offers to the playmaker, Jackson said during a press conference that the negotiations surrounding his contract extension were a “private matter” but that he had “earned” a new contract.

Watson, Stafford, Rodgers and co. lift market

As of today, the 2019 MVP is earning just under $23 million thanks to the Fifth-Year Option. In league comparisons, that ranks him in the middle of the quarterback pack. In the current offseason, the market for this position also experienced a drastic increase.

Deshaun Watson and Aaron Rodgers received contracts that will bring them almost 50 million US dollars each. Matthew Stafford’s contract extension will pay him US$40 million a year.

“I only care about myself. I don’t care what the other players earn,” Jackson says in response.

Lamar Jackson: The muscleman

On the field, the passer is in captivating form, according to reports from on-field observers. The 25-year-old has honed his throwing technique and gained almost seven kilograms of muscle mass. This would give him additional power in the passing and running game.

Jackson himself already posed with his well-toned body on social media. Seahawks receiver D.K. Metcalf already inquired about a trade, but only for his biceps.

In his fifth season, Jackson will lead the Ravens as a starter for the fourth straight season. Injuries had overshadowed the dynamic quarterback’s previous season. As a result, Jackson amassed just 2,882 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions – in just 12 games. In the running game, he added another 767 yards and two touchdowns.

The Ravens narrowly missed the playoffs.
