Lamar Jackson expects to play for Baltimore Ravens forever

Munich/Baltimore – Lamar Jackson is in for a big payday. After his rookie contract expired, he was further committed to the Baltimore Ravens via the Fifth-Year Option for the 2022 season. For that, he’ll collect $23,016,000.

Franchise and quarterback are already negotiating a long-term contract, however. The 25-year-old said he had contract talks with general manager Eric DeCosta this week: “We actually have. That’s what we’ve done. It’s a conversation. That’s all it is. We’ll keep that private.”

Nonetheless, it would also be possible to tie Jackson to the team for two more seasons via franchise tag. Jackson, though, is convinced he deserves a long-term contract: “Yeah, I think so. I still want my Super Bowl. But I think I’m worth that, too.”

The mobile passer even expects to spend his entire career in Baltimore. “Yeah, I expect to,” he says. Jackson was drafted 32nd overall by the Ravens in 2018
