It is currently unclear whether Travis Kelce will play another NFL season. If he decides to do so, he will apparently have to get used to a new role in 2025.
After losing the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Kansas City Chiefs are all about Travis Kelce.
Does the tight end, who looked anything but good in the crushing 22-40 loss, continue or quit? According to “The Athletic,” he should notify the team of his decision by March 14.
As a reporter for the publication reported to “96.5 The Fan,” the Chiefs would still like to have their superstar on their team. However, he would then have to accept a different role.
Kelce is no longer expected to be the number one target in Kansas City’s passing game. Rather, he would apparently act as a “role player” and no longer as the focal point of the offense.
Chiefs star Travis Kelce’s 2024 season his weakest since rookie year
It wouldn’t be a real surprise after the 2024 season. 823 receiving yards, 6.2 yards per target, and three touchdowns in the regular season were Kelce’s lowest totals since his rookie season in 2013.
In the Super Bowl, he was almost completely invisible with four catches for 39 yards, and also had two avoidable drops.
