Kansas City Chiefs: Kadarius Toney deletes social media profile

Kadarius Toney of the Kansas City Chiefs has withdrawn from the internet public eye for the time being following his horror game against the Detroit Lions in the NFL opener.

Kadarius Toney was the tragic figure in the Kansas City Chiefs’ 20-21 opening loss to the Detroit Lions.

After all, the wide receiver dropped three promising passes from star quarterback Patrick Mahomes – one of which even led to a pick-six by Detroit defender Brian Branch.

So Toney played a major role in the Chiefs’ home defeat and already had to listen to some criticism during the game.

The 24-year-old pass receiver deleted his Twitter and X-accounts after the sucking finger performance.

Apparently, the Chiefs player received rows of negative messages and comments that were far from any constructive criticism.

Some of these comments were already visible on the popular social media sites within seconds of the final whistle.

Toney himself is no slouch either. According to NFL insider Dov Kleiman, there has also been plenty of trashtalk from the receiver towards fans of the New York Giants – Toney’s ex-team – in the past.

Many of the Giants supporters vented their schadenfreude after last night’s NFL opener.

Mahomes takes Toney to task

The 2022 pass receiver transferred from the Giants to Kansas, where he was backed up after a poor showing against the Lions.

“I have confidence in Kadarius. He missed a lot of training camp,” Pat Mahomes said on “NFL Media.” “He’s fought hard in rehab to get back to playing. Things don’t always go the way you want them to.”

“Obviously, he would have liked to have caught a few passes in the game, but I trust that he’s going to be the guy that I throw to in crunch time,” Mahomes said, hoping “he’ll catch the ball and win us some games like he did last year. I’m sure those ball drops will go away. “
